Adj Asst Professor Dr. Ben Ng Jen Min graduated from the Queens University of Belfast Northern Ireland, United Kingdom (UK). He completed his postgraduate training with the certificate of completion of training (CCT) from the Royal College of Physicians (UK) with dual accreditation in diabetes and endocrinology and in general internal medicine. In 2010, he was awarded an MD with honours by the University of Hull, UK, in recognition for his research in diabetes mellitus.

 

Upon his return to Singapore the following year, he worked as a full time consultant endocrinologist in Changi General Hospital for 3 years, during which time, he was appointed as Assistant Adjunct Professor in research at Duke-NUS, the region’s premier graduate medical school, and also acted as a clinical tutor under the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Singapore.

 

His medical expertise encompasses a wide range of endocrinological problems including diabetes mellitus, obesity and thyroid disorders as well as androgen, reproductive, adrenal and pituitary disease. Dr Ng has a special interest in patients with diabetes mellitus and thyroid disease. ​

 

In the area of diabetes, his particular interest lie in the early stages of glucose intolerance, patients with Type 1 diabetes and those who require intensive insulin therapy. He is skilled in the initiation and treatment of patients requiring insulin pump and continuous glucose monitoring systems. Dr Ng is trained in the usage of the thyroid ultrasound and in fine needle biopsy of the thyroid gland. He has an interest in autoimmune thyroid disease and pregnant patients with thyroid disease.

Skills & Experience

Dr Ben Ng Jen Min studied and completed his training in medicine at the University of Queens, Belfast, UK. He then pursued specialist training within the National Health Service (NHS).

 

During the course of his training, he spent a year in the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast and three years at the Hull Royal Infirmary, Yorkshire. At these institutions, he was privileged to work alongside from some of the finest endocrinologists such as Professors Eric Kilpatrick, Brew Atkinson, David Hadden and Stephen Atkin.

 

During the course of his training, he was awarded a sabbatical to perform research in diabetes mellitus at the University of Hull, UK which he was awarded an MD with honours.

Dr Jaideep Raj Rao

Dr. Jaideep Raj Rao is the Senior Consultant Surgeon at JR surgery at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, Singapore and specializes in Minimal Access & Robotic Surgery, Bariatric & Metabolic Surgery, Gastrointestinal Surgery, Oncology Surgery & Hernia and Complex Abdominal Wall Reconstruction (Hernia Repair Surgery).

 

Dr. Rao completed his basic and advanced surgical training in Tan Tock Seng Hospital & Singapore General Hospital, Singapore. He was awarded the National Healthcare Human and Manpower Development Plan fellowship by the Ministry of Health in 2007 in Advanced Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery. Dr. Rao completed his fellowship at Seoul National University Hospital and Seoul National University Bundang Hospital, Korea in 2008.

 

He was the Senior Consultant & Head of Upper Gastrointestinal, Bariatric & Minimal Access Surgery and Director of the Bariatric surgery program at Tan Tock Seng Hospital for the last 10 years before founding JR surgery
